Did I do the wrong thing.

Been having an online relationship now for 4 months. He emails me every day and we also chat. Whenever we chat he always has to go. Usually 5 minutes into chatting he says he will have to go soon and it hurts. The last time he did it I sent him an email saying I appreciate our chats but don't understand why he always has to go so soon and I woud like him to tell me why so I can understand. I went on to say that if I understand then I can accept and perhaps I wont feel hurt. I have not heard a word and now think I have done the wrong thing. If only I had more faith in myself instead now I think have ruined it.

You've done the perfectly right thing, Gem because you need to know if he's leaving the chat quickly because he's hiding you from someone or, he's just on chat when he should be doing something else. His behaviour is suspect and if he doesn't answer you then you know, without a doubt that you've done the right thing by asking because now you can distance yourself from him and people like him who are disingenuous with their intentions.

The old saying "good riddance to bad rubbish" applies.

Online relationship are a bad idea. I know you didn't ask, but they're a silly, waste of time at best. Find someone locally that you can actually spend time with on at least a semi-regular basis.
