Because quite honestly, I'd want to know right away if someone I went out with even twice had a chronic medical condition... it's a total deal-breaker for me, and I wouldn't want to invest ANY time exploring it. I have enough on my plate to deal with as it is.

    But I understand your point.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

As soon as you go out more than a few times and both can see there are some feelings there (that are not just raging hormones).

Hey vashti, how's your he-tox going?

I'm back to day 1 of complete disengagement, but I'm being strong today (mostly by keeping myself busy). Haven't communicated in 7 days (broke NC with an email, as you know).

How many days has it been for you? You're an inspiration to me! I love how strong you are and how committed, it's giving me reminders to continue to be strong myself :-)

Vash, I agree with the others to wait a few dates to disclose. Its important, its private and you don't owe a casual date any more info about your kids than your bank balance, which you wouldn't disclose on a first date either.
Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.

Vashti and Indi broke up with their long-term partners? What the **** has happened to this world.

I see that we're in agreement over timing but your analogy is horrible. A child with a chronic condition is a lifelong commitment. Your bank balance is temporary and a person with debt can still pay it off over time. If vashti is only interested in casual dating, then she doesn't owe the other person any disclosure but if she is looking for a prospective partner, then he has the right to know what he's getting himself into

lol, the irony. Welcome to LF: where it's ok to insult other people's religion and race but woe to the poster that remarks about another couple's divorce

It's not ok to insult peoples race or religion. Just jews and canadians are fair game. The usual rules apply to normal races and religions.
