In this day and age of one night stands and casual sex, it's never a good idea to assume much of anything when it comes to who is having sex with whom or how many whoms. Sadly!

and ya here dating has always been exclusive too for most people. we call it "meeting" though. it means your getting to no each other before officially becoming bf/gf status but if one meets someelse-its still considered cheating. they are considered not bf/gf material. its that simple.

I'm sure we all think the same thing about one another. It's not overcomplicating anything to just make sure who you're screwing is willing to stop screwing someone else and if they're not, well then you can next them if it's not one's cup of tea.

I came from an era where we could assume that once we were bf / gf then we were exclusive. I'd never assume that now if I had to start dating again.

HIA, you've still got an American perspective ;-) Up until recently, even dating WAS exclusive for us. But I agree that in these days and with changing social rules, it is best to check.

id say there are plenty in the US who feel the same way i do. i woudnt survive in america though-not in the dating word coz im too fussy. lol

It's not a US perspective....it depends on each individuals perspective. Some go by sex as a show of commitment, others go by the spoken word. It all comes down to this....communication. If you do not communicate your perspective/intentions, then you take your chances.

i think its the land of immorality (if thats the right word) full of sex addicts, porn addicts and narcissists as well as a whole load of shallow and materialistic people. not to mention over dramatic-making a miuntain outa every molehill and a country that believes every bs stereotype where everyone is afraid to just be themselves and constanty trying to impress everyone else.

probably a few exceptions-a few normal people. anyway im glad i dont live there.
