I'd never heard about the 3 month salary thing. Sounds utterly insane.
Lol ..

This is not intended for the OP but more a point of interest. I don't find that ring at all attractive.
Here's one that I like the look of (though I generally don't wear rings), and a lot less costly. Its a blue topaz for those interested. The blue ones:

forget about the other ring! you have a beautiful ring on your finger now...there will always be beautiful rings, but this one is from your fiance!
Unbelievable.
Like many others here have said, the ring symbolizes the relationship and if the relationship is a good one, then you have nothing to worry about.
i agree, ring proves the relationship, i saw a lot of ones and not very expensive on the site orospot.com, you can choose smth there
Are you getting any sort of treatment for your anxiety? It's not normal for you to be losing sleep over this and as another poster suggested, your boyfriend must have the patience of a saint. You're lucky he even wants to marry you, let alone squabbling over a ring. I hope this doesn't go in one ear/out the other. You are focusing on something very petty - no doubt the ring you have is gorgeous. But, it's JUST a ring - what matters is the meaning you attach to it.
If your partner has told you "Look, we spent ages looking for a ring, finally decided on one and I do not want to sell this at 1/2 the price so be happy with what you have", then I would heed his advice and treat is a kind of warning...you don't want him changing his mind and starting to think that you're a basket case that he should not commit to.
