That sucks that you can't use the word Atheist. But I am sure there is so much political and social crap to deal with that it would most probably be better to name the group "The non religious & agnostic club", that way you be "politically correct".

But I am with Vashti that having the club work on improving the rep of Atheist is a good thing as I bet a lot of people down there are ignorant as hell and heavy Catholic. But hopefully you won't have to stay in that state for much longer.

Interesting fact: Texas is one of 7 states to disallow atheists from holding public office.
Heres another interesting fact; it is illegal to be an Atheist in Massachusetts.

Source?

Also, it's going to be called the Secular Humanist Society.

The thing is, you don't want to make your club be all about the things you DON'T believe in. Try to include some things you DO believe in. You know what I mean?
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Have a bible reading. You can find some interesting passages here.

Compare the passages to the list of books Texas wants banned from high schools.

Those are actually decent ideas. The community service might be worth it.

Keep spilling them.

i actually learned things in highschool: how to read music, how to write a decent paper, and how to speak german.

not only that, but i developed some social skills. before high school i was really shy. i also learned how to maintain a good work ethic, and many other things that you just need to get through life.

high school is meant to prepare you for college, or even more so to prove that you have the skills necessary to work. it gives you good acknowledgement when you're trying to get a job somewhere.

the college i am going to doesn't accept you if you don't graduate from high school. it's a four year university though.

my advice: finish high school. your plans could change within a matter of days, weeks, and months. graduating from high school gives you almost any opportunity you want.

Organizing a club at school would look great on a college application. Be sure to do some community service stuff.

Do colleges actually bother to check that stuff out? I made stuff up when I applied. I may have forged documents "proving" I did community service, too...

This was already established.

Being a pool boy doesn't count as community service, especially since you were fired for insubordination.

Use the word "intelligent" in it. Those Bible thumpers are trying to reclaim that word in the phrase "intelligent design". Don't let them.

And if you drop out of high shcool, I will personally come to Texas and beat your narrow ass. Don't be a ****ing idiot. You are surrounded by ****ing idiots. God damn it, Nicky. DON'T.
