i'm not an arab and the religion doesn't have a great control on my life. the culture does.

i'm am by no means oppressed. if this is what you understood from what i said then nooooo that's not what i meant.

my parents just hold the views that boys should be allowed out wherever, whenever with whoever, whilst their girls shouldn't.

hence i am not allowed 'out' as in with my friends, with my S.O. in this whole summer i'll probably go out with my mates twice. hardly seems fair when my brothers are out all day everyday.

maybe from the way i type it may seem exaggerated but i don't know. it's been a week since i've been on my summer break and so far i can't wait to go back to uni. i'm counting down the days.

Almost everyone I know that was raised in the middle east is this way with their daughters to some extent. I admit that I am a little more protective of my daughter than I am my son, too. I really believe there is more to worry about with girls.
