I am good, thank you for your concern dear...
The other riot in Sydeny was last year. In the suburb of Redfern (One of my friends lives there). It started when an aboriginal kid got killed while allegedly running away from the police. That made reprocussions with aboriginal community in Sydney so they went out and torched some cars and a train station, while being encouraged by the kid's relatives... I have this footage of one of the kid's relatives stuck in my mind he pointed at the rioters wielding molotov cocktails "You see that, that's the rightful redribution for the kid's death".
There was another riot earlier this year, in poorer western suburbs of Sydney with disullusioned youths who beat up some cars and property while police just stood there, obviously for the purposes of target practice.
This riot started with two lifesavers at Cronulla beach being bashed by a gang of middle easterners. Middle Easterners come to this beach from all over the west, so sad to see something that should have been isolated to a gang became so widespread and targetting the whole community. I have noticed ever since the gang rape trials (Something that really did happened a couple of times a few years ago) and 9/11 in particular this group has been slowly ostracised by the Australian community, this one incident must have been the match that lit the fire. The two rioting groups, one made up of just in time for Xmas drunk white Aussies, bashing anyone who looks remotely non European and the other one made up of middle easterners, bashing any innocent cars that stand by. How these two groups bent on destruction never met each other is beyond me...
So there you go, Sydney the diverse city of riots
This last one being the biggest one (Two other riots were over in something like a day while this one is still going on)
Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame
Weak find the whip, willing find freedom
Towards the sun, carry your name
In warm hands you are given
Ask the wind for the way
Uncertainty's gone, your path will unravel
Accept all as it is and do not blame
God or the Devil
