Well youngster there are a lot more than 13 benefits listed here and these are medical doctors. You might want to check point 12 among others because the doctors clearly state in this thread that the effects are completly reversible once the user has quit.

Well according to some prominent medical researchers from Harvard University it does help.

Are you going to tell us that you know more than these doctors too??

I don't doubt there are medicinal qualities associated with marijuana use, but the thing you should be asking yourself is if the benefits outweigh the risks.

Well, cannabis has not been proven to cause cancer-as tobacco has-( in fact cannabis is recommended by doctors for cancer patients. The harvard research showed that cannabis has never been directly linked to any cognitive abnormalites, (though past pseudo scientific research had attempted to demonstrate such a link)

"Preclinical data recently published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation demonstrating that cannabinoids may spur brain cell growth has reignited the international debate regarding the impact of marijuana on the brain. However, unlike previous pseudo-scientific campaigns that attempted to link pot smoking with a litany of cognitive abnormalities, modern research suggests what many cannabis enthusiasts have speculated all along: ganja is good for you."

So what I am getting at ssh! is... What are the risks ?

Since you asked (also from Harvard):

I think the jury is still out...

Au contrare the jury is seated and has reached a verdict. I noticed that your link is full of second hand information and consists of a few studies (not as many as my research) and further it seems a bit skewed like this part here

In addition, marijuana use has many indirect effects on health. Its effect on coordination, perception, and judgment means that it causes a number of accidents, vehicular and otherwise.

Your author provides no empirical data to back up this assertion, he is just trying to link two things together. For example, If I was to follow his logic then I could say:

" Alchohol has many indirect effects on health. Its effect on coordination, perception, and judgement means that it causes a number of accidents, vehicular, and otherwise."

Its skewed because he is attempting to link a green plant with motor vehicle accidents. The only direct link is when people drive while under the influence of these substances.

But a bottle of beer or a cannabis plant doesn't get behind the wheel of a car....a person does.

Because you can apply the same argument to alcohol does not negate the gist of what that article says. I merely wanted to illustrate to you that another Harvard.edu page gives conflicting info to what you posted, which means the jury is still out. Not many things are so black and white.

I am sure there are better peer-reviewed articles than what I posted; that was merely one of many that popped up on google.

I noticed that some of the researchers in your arguement are Phds and not Mds. This means they are not qualified to study the medical and biological effects of cannabis so maybe they are trying to link certain behaviours with drug use ie being accident prone, dropping out of school...but ssh! that flim flam doesn't concern me, because I have never been in an at-fault accident and nor have I dropped out of school.

I just want the medical facts. I don't want to hear some Phd (fake doctor) and his personal anti cannabis agenda, but if he has facts I am more than happy to listen.

MD and PhD are both doctoral degrees. A PhD's training is almost entirely research-focused, whereas M.D. training rests mainly on clinical application, not research.

How often do i change my bong water....

After every use, I dump it. And after 25 or 30 uses, I usually clean it out with soap and water.

PS: My freind and I run a small hookah bar in his house.
