    Well, in England what you refer to as "Taouk", is commonly known to the English as "shish kebab", which is served with pita bread.

    I don't understand how "shish taouk" and "shish kabob" can be the same thing.... They're different Arabic words, and they aren't synonyms.

    Shish Taouk is yogurt-marinated meat on a stick.

    (I think.)

    Shawarma is basically roasted, and then thinly shaved meat.
