"Bad boys" probably get the girls because they aren't boring. The average "nice boy" who leads an average life is not interesting. If you have an average job, average intelligence, no particularly special skills, etc, being "bad" is the easiest way to be different. Seriously, rich guys don't need to put on an act to get the girls because they have something the "bad boys" don't- money.

It's for the girls who want to look good because their in with the right crowd. This may be the case with a lot of girls, but a true relationship is between two people, not who's in the other person's phone book.
