If you are that strongly opposed to China, why *wouldn't* you learn their language, and on your terms, not theirs? They will need to speak english anyway, but those who can communicate in their language will have certain advantages... particularly if one is intelligent.

Italian and then Spanish are the most useful languages for me, in that order Indi. One of my friends at school who lived on my floor last year spoke Mandarin as fluently as any Chinese, but that was because of their cheap labor. And although I don't like McCain much at all, I prefer him over Obama
