Making acquantices into friends?

I had the same problem when I was in highschool.

Plenty of people to talk to, but no one to hang out with, until senior year at least.

Well, I've always turned acquaintances into friends by inviting them over for a party. When I was in college, my roommates and I threw great parties.

I just got a cell phone from my sister for my birthday (tomorrow, btw) so I'll probably post a bulletin on myspace with my number and tell them to call me or something.
