Being "friends" with an old girlfriend

So here's what happened.


So she came over here to talk. I told her that we couldn't "be friends anymore" - at least good friends who hang out and talk regularly.
We both chalked it up to "we got drunk and had sex" - she said she thought our friendship could work through that, and I told her it couldn't. I started out saying that if I saw her with another guy, I'd have a problem...Then she said "so you're saying that was more then just sex to you?"...to which I replied "no, the other night was just sex - but you represent more then just sex to me" - to which she said "well obviously you're alot more then just sex to me....it was because it was you, that we had sex...but I thought I'd just never put myself in that situation again"...

Then I told her that being around her keeps my eyes away from future possibilities. And that we both know that me and her wasn't going to be able to go anywhere. So being friends isn't a possibility. She was like "ok I can understand and respect that, and "I'm doing what I need to do""

So then she left - I pulled her back for a hug (maybe I shouldn't have but I couldn't help it) - then she left...I deleted her from my contact list. And now I'm sure Ill see her around but we won't be hanging out anymore.
