Hmmmm. I had a lot of hatred towards a person, to the point of feeling burning anger every time i saw them, last week i had to spend alot of time with them and i found myself not actually angry towards them, i didnt feel the normal hatred inside me, and it was actually ok] to be in their company.

I always have thought that what this person did was unforgiveable, but then again i always thought i would hate them beyond belief, forever.

Strange for me that this topic comes up at this point.
I think I am developing the first feelings of hate towards someone. Something I never wanted to experience and certainly didn't need hindsight to know how awful hate can be.

Hate & forgiveness seem to be a lot closer linked than I first thought. Similar to hate & love I suppose.

    I don't want to hate

The word hate to me means that you would enjoy watching that person be murdered. For me, that's pretty much reserved for child molesters and Nazis.

Child molestors, socialists, communists, militant vegans, dole bludgers, and self appointed authoritarian figures for me.

Militant vegans are slowly murdering themselves. All you have to do is stand by and watch.

yeh, well its kinda hard not to hate someone responsible for your childs death.

I never hated anyone before..i always thought it was such a strong word that is over used.

I don't think you should expect to forgive him for a long, long time. In reality, you will probably move two steps forward, and one step back for quite a while.

When is your little boy's surgery?
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

I think forgiving him is not something you should be expected to do, qwerty. He drove drunk with little kids in the car. You're not some kind of saint.

Maybe you're just protecting yourself emotionally by shutting down when he's around.

You're finally moving on I would imagine. Sure you don't "hate" him, but the same feelings still exist, you just have learned to control them rather than let them control you. That's how this stuff works for me anyway.

    Just a thought.

You fear your own anger, the drive to do great and terrible things."

He was in surgery for 6 hours due to a few complications, and also on a ventilator for the night as he wouldnt breathe by himself, but since then he's come on leaps and bounds, and doctors are really pleased with him. It was good to bring him home, he's back at the hospital tomorrow for checks.
