Don't fool yourself, you pay two times for the same thing that we pay just once (and less money of course ).

edit: @chupa :Yeah,Im naive but at least I don't need to worry ,when I get sick I can get help everywhere I am,even if I don't have one cent in my wallet.
PP, with all due respect.. socialized medicine is inherit with its own set of failings which high income and Goods/Services taxation rates and low levels of expertise don't even begin to describe the extent of.

Governments never manage anything well, and nor do corporations without strict guidelines.

The problems come when those corporations start to grease the palms of the politicians so the politicians drop the guidelines...honestly I think it makes more sense to take the corporation out of the middle of it...doing away with the guy trying to get a big bonus so he can get another Porsche takes the aspect of greed out of the scenario...nobody in the government will make money off of it therefore rules won't get broken.

I don't think this works for everything, as I've said I'm believe in a socialist democracy.

I wish to see health care and education all the way to college made available to everybody regardless of income and in terms of college...without putting them in so much debt they are in their 40s still payin the loans off....it basically takes half their life just to get themselves established.

We already have some form of socialization that most people don't even consider or think about...what about the police force? We pay taxes so that the police will protect us and maintain law and order...are there sometimes problems with bad cops...yea...but for the most part they do their job pretty well.

Same with education from k-12 I think most people would agree that it has its problems but it is still a pretty good educational system.

I don't understand why we can socialize the police force and part of the education system but not health care....we haven't plunged straight into hell with those being socialized.

I agree on the Planned Parenthood suggestions.

Honestly, clots aren't something to be too concerned about. It happens to me on heavier periods once in awhile. I had my period for 2.5 months when I was a senior in high school. Turned out it was fibroids and I was put on birth control pills which solved the problem. As long as she has no fever, unbearable cramping, and clots aren't falling out of her I think its ok to just try to visit Planned Parenthood.

Also, are you and your gf eligible for state funded health insurance?
So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,
    blue skies from pain.
Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
    A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
    Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
    Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?

Nope...I have a semester left in school and she is just starting this coming semester....because my dad cosigned on my student loans with me I have to claim my parents income as part of my own until I'm 24 (this coming January)...but they are middle class which pretty much means that I'm not eligible for any help to speak of...I'm really not all that poor...I mean I could find the money in my budget if I had to...she just worries about money and we don't have insurance...I mean if it turns into something serious then I suppose I don't have the money but if its just a visit and then some tests I could probably afford it over payments.
