I made that point that miso is making again. We take those who can afford to come, generally the scholarly but not the common man. And most of our ancestors were common people.

I said I want them to enter legally but we have to make a system that is conducive to them doing that.

As Miso pointed out there are few people who know as much about this country as immigrants. Many Americans are ignorant of this countries history or political system. I don't know how many times I have heard a person born here in America say the do not know the difference between Democrats and Republicans. While every individual has their own philosophy...you can generally draw sides of an issue and put one on either....people in this country should know the difference of the two major parties.

I have also heard in this country people who speak something that I do not believe is exactly called English yet they were born in this country.

People in this country, some of those who would send immigrants away have either cheated on their taxes, not paid their taxes, or in some way not given onto Caesars what is Caesars...from the bible in case you are wondering.

And while maybe illegals don't pay all of the taxes everybody else pays they do pay things such as sales tax for things they buy here....so they do pay some taxes.

There are also those among us who are uninsured...legal citizens without insurance who run to the emergency rooms and drive up the cost of health care and insurance for the rest of us. They are not all illegal immigrants.

I never said that I wanted illegals in the country...but I do believe the system should be made simpler for them and not cost as much. You cannot expect somebody of low income to afford that kind of thing and then get mad at them when they don't do it and just stay.

It is sort of like telling a child to buy a new car...and then getting mad when they don't...they simply do not have the means.

Also nobody seemed interested in my history lesson or the fact that America started a war under false pretenses and then forced Mexico into an unfair treaty....Manifest Destiny.

Sorry...don't mean the multiple posts in succession but I have another thing to say.

About "assimilating to our culture"...that takes generations...the Germans didn't jump off the boat and say "Well I sure do love apple-pie and baseball"...in perfect English.

Much of our culture in America...at least in the Midwest is shaped by Irish and German influences. Hell you can drive about 30 minutes away and find some Amish which still speak with German accents.

As soon as people cross a border they don't just automatically act and think like those around them. They come from a different background and bring different experiences that they should be adding to our culture. It is not that they are disrespecting our culture or infringing on it....they are changing to it and adding to it.

Many times people see something changing as something dieing...it is not dieing. Every time somebody new comes into our country, our culture grows because a new element has been added to it.

So truly it is my opinion that immigrants to our country broaden, enrich, and strengthen our culture....simply do not expect the blending of ideas to be immediate.

I don't mean to pick on the Germans (my ancestry) but the Germans and Irish weren't exactly the most popular people when they came either and many of the same exact things were said about them.

there are multi billion dollar corporations that don't pay their taxes, and at the same time pay their employees shit wages. and we're blaming the guy who's tarring the rooftop of their buildings for causing poverty to our country.

Well if trickle down economics really worked then we wouldn't have such a large lower class. The idea that a few at the top will disperse the money to the rest of us is a ridiculous premise. They will protect themselves and their investments and be greedy because it is human nature. Not all of them, but a good number of them.

It makes far more sense to work towards an economic machine that supports a large middle class...that is a big consuming engine. The more consumption means the more production required means the more jobs created. Its entirely cyclical.

Henry Ford paid his workers more money than anybody else so they could afford to buy his car....and on top of that he made a cheap car for the common man. He created his market.

A strong middle class is a stable market to rest a consumer based economy upon....not a few guys at the top with a lot of money kicking down some scraps every once in awhile.

I've given up arguing this kind of shit. People who take your side often cannot be reasoned with. What I quoted you with is enough evidence of that

Perhaps you will not change my mind...that is hard to say, something tells me I would not change yours either. It does not matter what side you find yourself on but generally when you pick one its hard to get a person to go to the other side.

As a precaution I deleted her number the other day and have it wrote down...so if I want to call or text her I would have to go to my desk, open it up, get the card and punch it in my phone...but it is almost three in the morning and I'm starting to sober up and did not call her...although I can't sleep and I'm wondeirng when they say do not take ambien with alcohol...how serious are the?...I do need to be to work sometime between 8-10 tomorrow. I set my own hours and generally like to get there by at least 10....but at the same time I think its highly important that I wake up for sure....I don't really want to put myself in a coma and die...that will ruin my week.

If I throw up...will that change my b.a.l. enough that I can take them? Where is Vash?...I need answers!
