Based on the limited information in the first post, it sounds like this guy has an anger management problem but isn't necessarily a control freak. Maybe he is a control freak, too, but there wasn't anything related to that in the first post. Threatening to abandon his wife and kid is beyond anger management, that's abusive and irresponsible. This couple needs to look into marriage counseling, and then maybe divorce lawyers.
