Generally speaking people act in the same way to the same situations. Like if you know the person's personality pretty well or even just a little bit you can pretty much predict what they are gonna do when certain things happen

and in NCIS The main character's big thing is his gut his instincts.

Well before I got my heart broken, I ALWAYS followed my heart. It feels great to do so. After getting my heart broken I realized how selfish my heart is. Only concerned about itself, complete disregard of reality and all things that make sense. Now my head, it considers everything, including my heart, my emotions, reality, what makes me happy.......and.........ready.........LOGIC. I use my head now a days, still consult my heart, but the final decision is always made by my head.

Look at it like this..... Your nerves sense the environment........ Your brain makes decisions.... Nerves in body cannot make decisions nor can they process received information. Your "heart" is just an emotional nerve.... notthing more, nothing less. Only the mind can make correct decisions based on what the heart feels.

If everyone made immediate decisions based on how the heart felt at that given moment then the whole world would be divorced.

I've followed my heart. It just seems to be too damn hard to use my head, I never seem to learn even though I always get myself hurt... I don't know if I'm just too ****ing dumb or why I always find myself crying because of a girl.
    "Icy roads beneath my feet,
Led me through wastelands of deceit,
Rest your head now, don't you cry,
Don't ever ask the reason why"

    That last one's easy.

To love someone is to be vulnerable to them. If you let them in, they have the power to hurt you terribly. If you can't trust, you can't love, and conversely, to trust means giving them the power to hurt you. If you put your trust in the right person, it's a wonderful, beautiful feeling. Ask any couple that's had a long and loving relationship to list the three things that have been most essential to their longevity, and I can almost guarantee that "Trust" and "Communication" will be in there.

Putting your trust in the wrong person often means that you're going to get run over.
