    I disagree. Sometimes people are being so stubbornly foolish about a bad relationship that compassion is wasted upon them. Instead, they need a swift verbal kick in the ass that might shock them into a lucid moment.

    We need to make one of those 'parenting, you're doing it right' posters re: forum posting. Something like a photo of someone crying their eyes out in front of a laptop w/the caption 'love guru - you're doing it right'.
    Second thoughts can generally be amended with judicious action; injudicious actions can seldom be recovered with second thoughts.
