Just can't help thinking about that one summer I met girls without TOO much issue. Then, one of them hooking up with my supposed good friend just RUINED my prospects pretty much permanently. All my mojo was GONE.

I can tell you from experience that depression follows a hangover for about a week. Find some good music you like to listen to, preferably with some decent lyrics, or strong energy if that helps. Don't think about the past too much, try to stay in the present.

Yeah. I've always been depressed, though.

Shhhh. That kind of talk isn't going to attract what you want from the universe.

Just listened to tracks I associate with "glory days" all the way home. Saw some former Beach Boys playing which was otherwise a very disappointing, brief hangout at a summer festival. Got this kid off the street who lost his mom. Sure, typically helping a lost child find his parents would be something the majority would feel good about afterwards. I failed to assuage the kid's tears although we did find his mom. Thought the entire time, "I can't even be a good person in a non-retarded fashion." I thought all about how a normal person would've made that quit stop his sobbing and feel confident his mom would be found. It felt like more of a defeat on the home than something to feel good about.

Saw a number of girls there and kept thinking, "Man, I caught lightning in a bottle in Summer '08." Sure, my best which was that summer was pretty meager in comparison to most other guys on this forum; 4-5 girls, a personal best. I keep thinking that there's no way I'm gonna ever top that, or even come close to matching it. Can't even get ONE date right now.

I had a great 20 something experience. But I'm having an even better time now, so keep your chin up babe.

Yeah. But my teens, aside from 2 years, SUCKED. The early 20s have largely sucked even harder. At least now I'm being more proactive in censuring the level of suck but when do things get...GOOD? (again, if ever)

Of course they do. My late 30's was hell in a planet-sized handbasket. I am so much happier now. One truism about life: all things change. Patience and work towards your goals.

Hope you're right. All this effort with nothing tangible to show and only a few useless personal little small victories means i'm seeing a TERRIBLE return on investment..

As someone near and dear told me: if you can't find a decent relationship, focus on making money. Lots of money. The other will fall into place sooner or later.

That's true. But I don't care as much about the money. I'd rather have less but the best relationship imaginable than to have the money without a relationship. It's not even a guarantee. Knowing my self-sabotaging self, I'd probably STILL have no luck with money.

Fine. I'm not saying money >> love. But while you are waiting for The One to appear, might as well set up your nest egg.
