His reaction bothers me, though. He totally guilt-tripped you. And the whole non-conformity speech is a load of bullshit in this situation, I hope you realize that. It's not a harmless form of self-expression, or something. It's not good for you. Don't fall into this way of thinking where you go, "But nobody understands us! It's us against the world!" People do understand. They understand that it's ****ed up.

From now on, do yourself a favor and try to keep your guard up a little more around your dad. I'm sure you've always trusted him, but now's the time to start questioning things. Keep an eye out for when he tries to manipulate you (like he did last night.)
