Sombra, cheer up. My insurance is $2,700/yr (about $2300 USD). We have some of the worst insurance rates because there's little to no competition between companies here. It sucks. I also pay more because I have an SUV. But even if I were to drive some little $500 beater, it would still be a minimum of like $1200.
