Fame? Meh. Fun. Talking to the cops, going to trial. It would be exciting. Not to mention I'd have something interesting to tell people.

It wasn't all that exciting for me... no one in the bank even knew it was happening. It wasn't one of those takeover robberies. Also, the stupid video cameras didn't work when I triggered the alarm, except that it notified the cops that a robbery was taking place.

I know a few innocent people, including children that were shot and killed by asswipes like that. In fact, I recall having this debate with you already. But I am not quite sure how to respond to that.... I would gladly give my guns up to give them their lives back.

The sad thing is that we live in a world full of assholes who hurt people every single day. I don't think eliminating guns would solve the problem though... sure you might save a few innocent lives, but you might lose a few too.

It's a good thing this guy was not given the death penalty; he deserves to die a slow, torturous death.

It's about not being in the place those big mother ****ers are, or being aware of their presence before they start the beating and having the brain cells necessary to get away.
If your weapon would get used against you, my mind is full of doubt that you'd be able to escape the situation, even unarmed.

You're trying to tell a 2 year student of Hapkido what self-defense means.

And in my opinion, the knife is deadlier. Get stabbed a few times, get your throat slit and bleed from your jugulars before you tell me otherwise; at least with a gun, there is a chance of a misfire, a jamming, inaccuracy, and a ****load of other things.

How does that suddenly make sense to you?

They invade homes without a warrant and then seize their personal firearms and then leave them without protection? The only way I'd consider staying here in the city is if I had reasonable amounts of food and water, and firearm with plenty of ammunition. They took their guns and then said they could stay. You might as well take their food and water, too.

I think most people would take their chances with a knife-wielder over someone sporting a gun. I think cops carry firearms rather than knives because they're probably statistically more effective in conflicts than knives. Probably why most soldiers are given firearms as well.

Oh god, wouldn't the world be hellish if cops carried knives instead? Think of all the police brutality that would happen.

I think the reason why guns are used so often in the military is because of their ranged effectiveness. That's blatantly obvious.

You completely missed the entire point of what I said and I'm not interested in breaking it down.

I'm done with this discussion. You've blocked your mind to all reason and now you're just blabbering nonsense.

You missed my points from the beginning of the discussion. The majority of my correspondence with you in this thread has been mostly a playful one.

The U.S. population's racial distribution in 2006 was as follows:

    * Total population: 299 million
    * White alone (including White Hispanic): 74% or 221.3 million
    * Black or African American alone: 13.4% or 40.9 million

    Versus
    Sweden

Of the 2007 population approximately 16.7% had at least one parent born abroad or were themselves born abroad.

And that even excludes those immigrants who's parents lived in Sweden before they were born, which should be plentiful as well. Couple that with that our second largest immigrant group is Iraqis, and I bet you'd love it here. And we have yet to have any terrorist attacks happening. People are amusing.

Sweden's an interesting place. I was reading about Swedish (At least I think it was Swedish) high school students and how they're similar to American kids. They obsess over fashion, listen to shallow music, watch too much TV, hang out at malls, etc., yet they manage to do extremely well on standardized testing.

Sweden is completely lacking in the black ghetto inner city, that is what I was referring to as being THE huge cause for crime. The immigrants you are taking in aren't selling crack and gangbanging, are they? Come to the US sometime, compare the minority element of Detroit against your oh so peaceful and diverse Sweden

I'm not sure why you posted all those statistics in response to my post. What I said was, again, the vast majority of crime originates by poor blacks living in the inner city. Those numbers have nothing to do with that, and I don't see where you're going. Maybe just suggesting Sweden is nicer because they are diverse without these problems? You don't have a homegrown thug culture in the city

The vast majority of legal immigrants don't cause problems here and many are very productive and smart. Like my dad

People sell crack and gangbang everywhere. Just because they aren't jigaboos does not mean squat.

US cities are crack up the ass, it's easier to get a rock than powder

And compared to Canadian cities and most European cities, the US does lag a lot. But hey, if France keeps letting all the illegal immigrants from Africa flock over and have that go unchecked, maybe next year they'll burn a few thousand more cars and destroy more businesses

I'm living in DC right now. In a good part. My neighbor runs a school in Southeast DC. He's about as generous and compassionate as can be. Really goes out of his way to help troubled kids have a shot at life.

One of the kids shot him in the face a month ago for absolutely no reason.

See? I told you the NRA was not to be trusted.

A gun-control activist who championed the cause for more than a decade and served on the boards of two anti-violence groups is suspected of working as a paid spy for the National Rifle Association, and now those organizations are expelling her and sweeping their offices for bugs.
