Why are guys so mean?

Well, both sides have good arguments.

It's sort of like the n word.

The n word that is used for blacks. Black people start to call each other that to reclaim it from the white people and all the negative connotation that comes with.

Frasbee's argument is one that I could see. It has power because we continue to grant it power.

There's a little more to the n word than just that, Arty. I've noticed a backlash against it's use in middle-class black communities. Still being used with derisive intent in the hoods, though. And: When's the last time you heard a Jew call another Jew a "kike"; or an Italian call another Italian a "wop"' and so on? No. There's more than merely "reclaiming" the n word going on. I don't think that's a fair comparison to what Fras appears to be arguing. But you did say "sort a" so I don't hammer on the point too much.
