I'm agnostic, but to be perfectly honest, if there IS a God, and if s/he is all-powerful and even remotely interested in humanity (as you seem to believe), s/he has a lot of explaining to do.

I am probably more religion-friendly than most on this forum, but I find cliche statements like "God never gives you more than you can handle" offensive, in light of the fact that I have a kid with a chronic medical condition that could kill her, and in light of the amount of suffering I see regularly at work.

If there IS a God, I do not believe s/he operates in the way you think, and if he does, I believe my wrath is justified. I am really okay with you taking comfort in your beliefs, and I agree that belief is a valuable tool for many people. I am just not one of them.

    Peace.

Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

No, I won't. Days are somehow easier, anyway. Nights are what I dread.

    This is day 5, BTW.

    Thanks for cheering me on.

Indi - I read that poem when it popped up this morning. It's lovely. Thanks.

Nope. People that commit suicide aren't looking for a "way out". They truly believe that the world and their family would be better off if they were dead.

You sound incredibly naive, and like most, will say just about anything to defend insane beliefs that have no basis in reality.

It's like talking to someone from North Korea.

sorry broski, but not everyone who commits suicide thinks the world would be better off if they were dead. Mine was a general comment as evidenced by "some people" whereas you made a claim without any exceptions. You sound incredibly arrogant and naive to speak for everyone who has ever killed themselves and, as such, will probably say anything for attention.

If you want to talk about "incredibly arrogant", you're derailing a thread with religious overzealotry and then worse, look at the first quote: really? So because you believe in God that gives you the right to be so condescending?

perhaps you missed this reply from Indi:

"Now **** off with your religious-based 'help'. You tried, it was rejected. Next."

my response was to her condescending tone and worldly advice. I never belittled anyone else's beliefs or told them to "**** off."

Because you kept at it. You really should have stopped.

And actually, you DID belittle someone's beliefs: You said something about "hubris" and typical "atheist."

lol, who are you trying to fool? You were the one who brought it up after the discussion was dropped. Also, atheism is not a belief per se but keep trying

It is a belief: the belief that something that can't be proved to exist does not exist on faith. Moron.

Call You Stupid - Apparently you can't read. See below. Vash told you 2X now she's not interested in your religious tripe. Take it someplace else, its not wanted here and this is not your thread. You aren't doing much for my opinion of the intellect of religious folks, btw.

There's all kinds of idiots out there. We'd be having the same issue with someone who told Vash to go **** around to take her mind off this guy and wouldn't give over when she told them 'no thanks', but some religious people are quick to take offence when their 'help' is rejected. Consistently small minded.
