Quick question! -- How far in advance should I ask a girl out?

We have already gone out several times. We are currently living 2 hours apart while we are on summer break for college. She will be out of town this weekend and I was hoping to ask her out for the next weekend after that but I am wondering if I can go ahead and just do it on this thursday or friday.

How often do you talk, and how serious is this? If it's a guy I'm just casually seeing, I don't make plans far in advance. Guys who try to get booked in like a club can be annoying. I'd say keep talking to her and wait to ask her early in the week of. If it's more serious you could broach it now but don't try to hammer down plans til it gets closer.

I agree, maybe you could just 'throw it out there that you would like to do something the weekend' but that's it.
If you more serious than you wouldn't be worried about this so yes... go with Roller.

Don't want her to feel that 'waiting' for her so just say..."maybe we can get together next weekend sometime" would be good to give her a hint that you want to see her when she comes home....

Give her 3-4 days notice, and if she suggests that she has other plans... tell her that yours are better.

Live life, and when your life is going good... live well... don't throw that away on romance.... summarily.
