well you're probably gona need to distance yourself. it may be hard especially for your friend but it'll avoid so many future problems and a lot more heart breaking. he may say 'no i wana stay friends' but he obviously wants more. it's not his fault but you need to do something about it.

He isn't really your friend anymore. He wants more and is willing to ruin the friendship for what he wants.
