*sigh* alone again on valentine's day

hey guys.. just needed a space to vent haha. My college was celebrating valentine's day today, and i admit that it really sucks to see other girls/guys walking around with roses or gifts or balloons. I got gifts too, but its all from my friends-well that made me feel better. But what really gave me a sinking feeling was what i saw when i was walking out of school. saw a guy with a rose and balloon and he was waiting for one of my schoolmates-to give her a surprise. Sheesh i was wondering if i would ever be appreciated like that So anyone spending their valentine's day alone like me? haha i guess i need to keep myself busy to brush off this sinking feeling

Well, do you have that sinking feeling all of the other 364 days of the year? If not, then I think you should ignore this one, dumb day. If so, then let's come up with a plan to get you into somebody's arms by next year.

Um, I want in on that plan.

Seriously though, I'm really glad V-day is a Saturday this year. That means I don't have to work: I get to go to the market, eat Raclette, and go back to bed. Last year was absolutely the worst -my lovely roommate actually said to me "LOOK ANNIE, I GOT ROSES!" She really was lovely, but engaged and clueless about being single. Every single piece of mail and email I got that day was about V-day, and I had to wait outside the door of the HUB for 10 minutes while a parade of flowers walked in. It Sucked.

I feel your pain, and I say, lash out against Valentine's day with all your might. It's a stupid, ridiculous, waste of a perfectly fine day and should be abolished.

I'm not alone, but we're not doing anything special really. I refuse to delegate one day of the year to showing how much I love my man.....I think that's what every day is for.

I'm working a long shift, so I gave my loved ones their valentines today.

Hope - I just want to point out that it isn't even Valentine's Day yet, so all those people walking aorund with balloons, etc. are just showing off. People show off when they feel insecure. Don't pout - feel sorry for them.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Hm i dont usually have this sinking feeling everyday, but i get it on Vday evey year, cause most of good friends will be like talking and talking about their dates and what to wear and stuff.. But i do get that feeling sometimes cause i feel that no matter how confident or happy a woman is, she would still long for someone to be by her side Yeah i planned to go out with my friends today but they got dates

Lol, Valentine's day is entertaining to watch to be honest. I am single but I find it funny, its been turned into a retail firestorm, its about how much you spend and how many shades of red, white and pink you give the people you love.

I got my mom a card for Valentine's day, she is more excited knowing that I care about her and remember than anything else in the world.

Like Blue said, its really a pointless holiday, if you use it as a reason to do something special for the one you love then your lame imo. The girls I date get flowers whenever I feel like, usually once every couple weeks or so, not when its marked on a calendar.

I'm single and happy! I am having some friends over tonight and am playing the role of chef making dinner for everyone.

You can always look at it this way....if you we're dating someone, chances are its NOT going to be your future spouse. When the day comes you break up, what happens when you pull out that card he/she gave you for V-day? Thats got to feel good.

Couldn't agree more Blue. You should spoil and tell your lover you care about them and that they are special to you everyday, why just show it on one? Overrated day for certain.
