Life is a blank canvas, lets throw paint all over it
Enchanted is a sort of more recent one (2007, so 10 years ago isn't super recent, but not super old either). It is goofy and weird, but I LOVE that movie. Definitely fits into the "feel good" category, I think.
Thanks I love Elf but it's not Xmas haha

Our last movie club was feel good movies & Exeter's suggestion City Slickers won. But, my movie suggestion was Pretty in Pink :]

All good suggestions I'm going to make a list!!! I have been watching fresh prince for humour purposes but it's nearly finished![]()

Hot Tub Time Machine and Wedding Crashers are two I always enjoy.
Life is a song - sing it. Life is a game - play it. Life is a challenge - meet it. Life is a dream - realize it. Life is a sacrifice - offer it. Life is love - enjoy it.
EJ..."Enchanted"? Really? How sweet. You are a hopeless romantic! I love movies. Movies that make me cry, laugh, think, get angry. A favorite feel good one though, is "The Polar Express". Can you hear the jingle bell?
I absolutely LOVE Enchanted. I would actually say that I've recently realized it is one of my favorite movies. I love movies in general, so my personal list of "favorite movies" isn't tiny... but it isn't HUGE either, so that is really saying something for this movie. (Side note: My all time favorite is Ghostbusters)
There's just something about how it takes the super romantic kind of love you see in fairy tales and Disney movies..... but then brings it into the real world. So, at the same time it shows that the whole fairy tale idea of love isn't realistic..... but that doesn't mean that love can't be just as magical in the real world. That love can be BOTH magical AND realistic. Not to mention Amy Adams is just perfect in that role. So adorable and sweet and easy to love.
Muriel's Wedding is a good one with Toni Collette.
CantMoveOn... that's a funny movie...love that actress too.
Bridesmaids, Shaun Of The Dead, Big, Babe, Never Been Kissed, The Wedding Singer.
EJ, were you furious with the female version of Ghostbusters like some of the hardcore fans were? Anyone see "A Dog's Purpose"? My son and I were just sitting on the couch crying practically through the whole thing.
Funny. I LOVE Shaun of the Dead but never really thought of it as a "Feel Good movie," per se. But, I can kind of see that now that you mention it.
Oh no, quite the contrary. I absolutely LOVED it. I had my concerns when I first heard about it. Not because of all female Ghostbusters. I loved that idea. Mainly because of some of the stars chosen. For a couple of them, I HATE their typical style of humor and did NOT feel like it had any place in a Ghostbusters movie. (The other two I didn't know at all so I couldn't say.) I was a little worried that was what we were going to get after we Ghostbusters fans had wanted a new movie for SOOOOO long. .....But when the movie came out, that sort of overly immature/stupid but not in a funny stupid kind of way was NOT what we got. In fact, I actually LOVED all four of the new Ghostbusters, including the two I am not such a huge fan of normally. ....But Holtzmann absolutely stole the show. She's my newest celebrity crush now. LOL!
I just rented that from Red Box this past weekend. I loved it. Added it to my list to eventually add to my collection.
EJ...I love you!! How about "Forrest Gump"? You are a romantic.."Serendipity"?
Goonies and Coming to America
Psychoanalytical Psychotherapist: Online and In Office Psychotherapy Sessions.
LOL! Thank you, and right back at you!
Two other great choices. Forrest Gump is just such an awesome movie. I love every moment of it, and his love for Jenny is so heart-warming. A little heart breaking too since she didn't really feel the same way through most of the movie. I mean, she loved him for sure, but not in the same way.
Serendipity... well, I don't know why, but somehow John Cusack just cannot seem to miss with me. Somehow, every movie I see with him, I love. You weren't around when we did this but our movie club here once featured another of his movies. Have you ever seen Martian Child? Something of a lesser known John Cusack movie where he plays a writer who adopts a lonely little boy who thinks he's from Mars. That premise sounds really weird, but it was actually such a beautiful, touching movie.
In fact, I'd even add that to our list of feel good movies. The Martian Child. I love it.
