Chores/Things we hate more than we should

I thought this would be kind of an interesting topic to discuss. What are some chores or other things that you hate disproportionately to how difficult and/or time consuming they actually are in reality? A bit confusing perhaps, so allow me to clarify with an example or two of my own.

    1. Making my lunch for work for the next day.

I cannot understand why, but for some reason I HATE having to make my lunch for the next day. I have to do it almost every work night because I prefer to bring my lunch rather than to get it at our Cafe or go out somewhere else. It probably takes me no more than 5 minutes, if even that. It isn't like it is all that hard. But, for some strange reason, I HATE it. I will happily clean my toilet or vacuum the rug. I will happily clean the table or do the dishes. All of those take much longer than making my lunch but don't bother me in the slightest. Yet, for some reason even I cannot understand, I HATE making my lunch.

    2. Shaving

Again, it doesn't really take all that long. I wear a small goatee but with no mustache. So, I shave the rest of my face and I shave my whole head bald. Sure, that is a lot to shave.... but even that really only takes me about a half hour. But I HATE it. When I remember I need to shave that night, you might as well be telling me I have to go watch paint dry for HOURS... but I have to pay close enough attention to give a detailed and accurate report about everything. LOL! Again, just like with making my lunch, I can't even explain WHY I hate it so much. It doesn't really make sense, but I just hate it. I've actually given serious consideration to getting laser hair removal at least just on my head.... but from some reading from other bald guys who DID do that, it sounds like it doesn't work all that great. Those that have done it said it is expensive, takes several sessions, and doesn't even wind up removing ALL the hair. So, not worth the expense and time.

Anybody else have their own to share? Chores, or even other things that you hate even though in reality it isn't really THAT bad?

shaving would also be on my list but do it because i think i wouldn't look great with any significant amount of facial hair.

mowing, any type of yard care, including snow shoveling.

washing my truck. you'd think it would be relaxing but i find it tedious.

WiltedRose, you may have to clarify what you mean by your kid's nappies. I'm assuming you mean, like when they take a nap.... but is nappies maybe some kind of slang I'm not aware of or something like that?

Anyways, see herein lies one of the reasons why I thought this would be a fun topic to discuss. It is funny how what some consider the most boring and torturous of chores, others don't really mind. Exeter, I never minded mowing. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather not do it. I love being in an apartment now where I don't have to handle that because it is the complex's responsibility. But, I never minded it all that much. Again, I'd still rather not have to do it, but I got a sense of accomplishment out of it, at least.

Hand washing dishes and even washing my hair and brushing my hair is a big chore to me when I don't feel great. Grocery shopping sometimes can be a burden too doing that aimless zombie walk around the store.

I hate cleaning up my hazel's poop. So gross when it is fresh!

I also hate cleaning out bad expired food hidden at the back of the fridge that smells and has possible mold on it.

    Waxing my legs.

Well...I have been "guilty" of scraping possible mold off cheese and using it to cook with. Haha! And no, noone has ever died from my cooking...that I'm aware of! ;-)

LOL! PC, we just have to put the guy-ear muffs up. Think of sports. ....Wait! CRAP! I don't like sports! Oh no! What do I do?

You know, all the poop talk is kinda funny too because it makes me think of another chore you would think I'd HATE, but I don't really care. That is cleaning my cat Izzy's litter pan. Somehow I don't mind doing that.... yet I HATE making my lunch. LOL! Again, even I don't understand my own "logic" sometimes.

Its like your lunch is worse than cats poop if you hate to make it more than poop scooping. Or maybe you just cook so bad lol.

I feel like licking small boobs is a chore cause theres no excitement in it. Getting tired from small breasts. Also lifting heavy girls is a chore cause back and stomach hurts afterwards. But it was worth it to lift first girl cause I liked her a lot, but about second girl I knew I wont even try to lift her so I never did.

Also I feel like brushing teeth before bed is a chore cause going to sleep anyway and will have to brush them in the moorning anyway.
Going to sleep sunday night is a chore for sure. Cause have to go to work on monday and I just want to live as long as I can before waking up for work the next day.

Oh, another one actually came to mind for me. Filling my ice cube tray. It's another one where it only takes a few seconds, but for some reason annoys the poop out of me. ....But you know what? I suck it up and do it anyway. You know why? Because A) it only takes a few seconds and B) that way I don't run out of ice.

My former roomie was and still is my best friend.... but this was one of the things that mega-annoyed me about his living habits. I think he hated re-filling the ice trays as much as I did. When he and I were rooming we had four in total. When I was the last to use one.... I'd refill it. When HE was the last one to use one..... it would sit there for DAYS.... until the next one got used up... in which case if he was the one to last use it, it too would sit there for days.

Like I said, we had FOUR.... and I can't tell you how many times we'd be down to one still in the freezer because he wouldn't fill them and I'd gotten sick of feeling like it was my damn job to do it all the time. LOL! He's a great guy, and we are still best friends.... but I am definitely digging living on my own.

That kinda doesn't sound like it really fits this thread, then. That doesn't sound like a chore you hate even though it really isn't such a big deal..... It sounds like a chore you hate because it DOES quite literally suck.

Sorry to hear about all that, though. Good luck. I hope all that finally turns around for you.
