Her PMS makes me crazy.

My girlfriend is acting weird for almost 3 weeks now. I understand that most women (if not all) undergo a severe pain throughout their menstruation and that they are beast-like during those days. However, my girlfriend’s PMS isn’t seem ordinary. We argue from time to time. Every time I talk when she asks for my point of view with something, she gets angry. On the contrary, she will curse me to death if I stay silent. She makes rants when I make a phone call. Isn’t that scary? One time, I went to their house to pay a visit. I brought her food to make her happy just like the way she used to before. To my surprise, she got mad when she saw me. Those made me think something wrong is going on. Is that even normal for girls to have PMS attack for almost 3 weeks or is she doing something behind my back?

Honestly, my gut reaction to all that is she sounds kind of abusive. My gut reaction would be to say why in the heck would you want to put up with that? You don't deserve that. Maybe you'd be better off without her.

...I'll admit, though, that maybe that is a tad too harsh. I mean, it is NOT okay that she treats you this way... but maybe there is a reason for it that she hasn't shared with you. Maybe she's going through something kind of rough and is therefore extra aggravated. That doesn't make it okay for her to treat you this way, but I could at least understand that. In our worst moments, nobody is the best version of themselves.

So, at the very least you should talk to her about this. VERY IMPORTANT clarification to that, though... do not try to talk to her immediately after she's done something to frustrate you. Better to take some time to cool down, let cooler heads prevail, and then talk when you can both start with neutral emotions. This way, you can approach it in a way where your intention is two-fold: 1) To show her that you are not okay with the way she's treating you and will not tolerate that, but also... 2) To show her that you are there for her if she's going through something difficult. If she needs somebody.

It shows you are sensitive to her needs if maybe she is going through some crap in her life and that makes her extra aggravated... but also shows you aren't okay with being her punching bag. Again, you don't want to make it sound like an attack on her, though. Hence why it is better to discuss something like this after you've cooled down.

Bottom line, though, it's not okay for her to treat you like this. So, either she needs to let you in and let you know what's going on, or she needs to deal with it and get past it. Or... if the truth is there IS NOT anything going on and she's just naturally this grumpy/abusive a person... well, then you'd honestly be better off without her anyway.

Isn't PMS only a 10-day event before getting your actual period which could last 4-7 days normally. So all of that isn't even a three-week event. She can take Midol or some over the counter medications to curb symptoms, lay off caffeine and alcohol, and salt too. Are you blaming it on PMS or did she say it was PMS?
