or you could just let the automatic answer do it, although you won't get the happy thx giving part.

if you want funny, then say, if you've reached this message, it's because we don't want to pick up the phone, and have you over for thx giving...(the pause)...then say, happy thx giving, and tell them you were joking ----> if you want the shock factor to remain, then don't tell them you were joking....

....let the thought linger in their heads, and suprise them with a phone call or something.

if that is too extreme, you could try the family friendly: "welcome to dominoes, would you like to order our thx giving double cheeseburger with broccli pizza?'.......then pause for a moment.......then say...."hello..........hyeeelo?" then pause again, .......then tell them it was a joke, and continue with your message in a playful way. of course there are a lot of variations to this one - use your imagination!
