He's just broken up with his old gf, but he likes me

Ok so theres this guy i like and he likes me. We've been texting, talking (in person and on msn) absolutely loads, and for the first time in ages i actually think i want a serious bf!!! (Believe me this is a big step for me!).
There are a few problems tho and i'd appreciate it if u could help me at all! thx!
1) Hes only just broken up with his old gf last week. The thing is that they wer both not happy in the relationship and both wanted to break up a month ago! I was not a reason for their seperation (it was mutual), but I really don't want it to appear as if i was involved and start dating him immediately. How long do u think i should wait b4 dating him, so that everyone will not think badly of me at all?
2) I've got a male phobia of commitment and haven't ever had a serious boyfriend. I know all relationhsips are different, but would i be expected to spend all my time with him? would i not be expected to talk to other guys much? I'm very confused about wot would be expected from me.

Wait however long you want to. You can't worry about what others say, just make sure that he is over his ex.

You would have to talk to him about his expectations of the relationship. You don't have to spend every moment with each other and I would recommend that you don't.
