Just curious... are you for dead sentence or not

Just curious! Yesterday on "The hours" they were talking about that guy that they execute in California today at 1am!

I was just wondering how people feel about that?

Here in Canada its not permitted!

So do you think its right?

Do you think that if someone commit something like a murder, he could learn get therepy and be normal again?

Do you think that they might make a mistake and accuse some wrongly?

    Happend here in Winnipeg

Do I think someone who has murdered someone can be rehabilitated? No. Do I agree with the death sentence? I don't know.

I guess that its kind of complicated..

I don't know really if someone who kill someone else could really feel sorry about it..you if its an accident well its different but.. if really they wanted to do it..

I think that if someone kill someone I would think that they should spend the rest of their life in jail, (but now the jail are pretty easy compare to before) because when they dead, their suffering is over... but the family of the people they kill them they are still suffering...

There is so many crazy people look at:
Nicole Smith (she kill her kids.. men this one I would love to strangel her myself.. how can someone do this.. and look at them drown..

And the the freak one...she just got release from Jail.. they said that she is not a treath to the society so she is alowd to move where ever she wants and did not have to say a shit to no one... (I just can't remember her name)

She is french... you know she kill her own sister...

I don't agree with the death penalty. For most criminals its the easy way out anyway. Let them rot in jail until the day they die. In solitary confinement. That's far worse punishment than death.

Well, what is better, to rot in the cell forever and pick up soap or just die fast and without pain?

I agree with the above. The death sentence is essentially useless. It doesn't serve any financial good (more money is expended on appeals in california all death sentences by law are automatically appealed in 10 days, costs of paying and sequestering jurys, additional court costs) the death sentence is actually more expensive then keeping the offender alive.

The offender problably killed his victims heinously so he shouldn't get to lie back and have a humane injection put him to sleep. Thats ridiculous. He should be kept alive in prison having to deal with booty bandits for the rest of his pathetic life.

But hey, some people adamantly beleive they should get the easy way out!

I agree with Junsui, bluesummer, and carp...

Sometimes I think they should spend life in prison for what they did. Not only does it escape the "easy way out" that the death penalty offers, but it gives them time to maybe reflect on what they did, and perhaps do something positive.

In "Tookie" Williams case - he was actually nominated several times for Nobel prizes for writing several children's books warning them of the trouble associating with gangs brings.

But then again, like Junsui said, I just don't know sometimes...

What's even more offensive to me is when the criminal requests the death sentence. It's like, you did the crime, and now you can't face yourself or the world as a consequence, so you'd rather just die (painlessly) and pussy out? Please. If they're going to die, let them get shanked in prison.
