    Greetings and Salutations!

    Hello Everybody,

I just registered to the forum and would like to say hello as I continue to explore and read threads. I am a married male with one child and one step-child. I am an Aspie, feel free to ask I will be happy to provide some links, and my son has been diagnosed with severe Autism but is very brilliant and doing well. I have joined this forum to learn and grow personally. I would also like to try to pick up other things I can adopt to try and lessen some fighting with my wife.

I tend to be very detail oriented and very adept at technology, a classic gEEk and nerd. I usually take things literally and state things bluntly, please ask if you think something I said was done in malice. I look forward to learning from and posting with all of you.

Welcome. I rather not be linked, but would you please just tell me: is Aspie short for Asperger's Syndrome, and isn't that basically what they call the high-end range for autism? If not, how is it different?

My nephew is mildly autistic, by the way.

Correct, and it is high functioning on the Autistic spectrum. I hope things work out well for your nephew, when caught and worked with early amazing progress can be achieved. Does he have any complications with social issues or with showing/accepting love?

Yes, but he is so mild that the average unknowing person would just guess he is an obnoxious teenager. He is good with affection (ugh! he is bigger than me and still wants to sit on my lap) but he has difficulty sharing attention and gets very jealous if my own kids want attention when he is around.
