    Background search

    Hi,
My ex and I broke up. We went out for 2 months. We work in the same place. she broke up w/ me. I am okay with the decision. What happen was that she told me she was a certain age. trhough all the white lies, and drama. I did a background check on her age. This is free public information. I find out that she lied.

I asked her about. She said that I did a sneaky thing. I don't think I did. I wanted to start a friendship with her. And this was a concern that i had.

I haven't talk to her since. I did let her know that it was wrong for me to do it. But, she lied to me. Any suggestions
    thanks for reading.

Two people being "friends" after breaking up = a big fat lie.

You dated for two whole whopping months, broke up, and this is a big deal?

Get over it, and her. And realize that being "friends" with someone whom you dated is never going to happen.

True. I guess this is why I asked her about the background report. I said hey, I have nothing to loose. If we are going to be friends, then I was thinking let just start at honesty. No honesty = no friendship.

Just out of curiosity, why would you feel inclined to do a background check on someone's age? I mean, I understand looking for criminal history or something more important, but why age? Did she LOOK older (or younger) than she claimed to be?
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

No, there's nothing wrong with doing a backround check on her.

In fact, I do a full backround check on all my friends and potential girlfriends.

    - Age check.
    - Criminal history.
    - Credit Check.
    - Tax Returns.
    - Financial Statement Analysis.
    - I'm being sarcastic.
    - Yes it's pretty sneeky of you,
    - To be doing a backround check.
    - Reguadless if it's Public records.

couldn't you, through all the white lies and drama, just figure she was probably lying about her age anyway without doing something retarded like do a background check?

she tells me honesty is the foundation for our relationship. During our last talk, she was trying to says things that I did. It got out of hand. i fully believe that a background check was neccessary. In a relationship, i only want the person to be honest with me. it doesn't matter if we are friends now. i can't be around somebody who is going to lie to me. It is hard because she preached christian values. the background check is public domain info. i have a clean conscience on this matter. it comes to show that white lies and lies will eventually come out.

The preaching of "Christian values" is a big red flag to me. Good Christians don't usually find it necessary to flaunt their values when demonstrating them will usually suffice.

But still, don't you think it is a little extreme to be performing background checks for absolutely no reason? Are you always such a suspicious fellow?

Frankly, I am more worried about YOUR motivation for being so sneaky than I am about her motivation for lying about such a trivial thing.

good point. just wanted to know if there are other people who do the same or would admit to it. it started out as something innoncent to do the background check, and it uncovered a some other things. Got to do what i believe to be right. thanks for replying.
