Do i have a closed heart?

Im 18 years old and have found myself in a situation where i could have a relationship if i want, and i do want, but im scared of falling in love, and loosing that person or being hurt! Im seeing someone at the minute and he sort of knows how i feel about the whole situation! Anyway how do i get over the fear of loss and hurt so that i can get on with my life and stop thinking about the worst?

Relationships are all about risk. If you are unwilling to take a risk, then you will never have love. As for how to get over your fear - well I guess you have to acknowledge the fear, but then act in spite of it. There is no other way.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Well you have two choices. You can either take a risk that could be full of good things or bad. Or you can choose never to love or take a risk, and always wonder. Then you end up alone---and that is guaranteed. At least try ok?

stop being so damn scared or you will never fall in love. you will eventually find out that the only way you will get hurt, is if you hurt yourself.

Sometimes you have to take a leap of faith as the risk might bring greater dividends than lost.

Baby steps for you, Rozi. If you involve yourself with a kind person who really cares, love can grow day by day, and it doesn't necessarily have to feel like jumping off a cliff. Look at it as something like a staricase rather than a cliff. Step up if you feel it, take a step back if you don't. As things progress, you'll feel good, and more willing to open up. It'll become a kind of positive feedback loop.

Later, you can try cliff jumping when you have more confidence and experience.
