What Is Love???

How does everyone define love? I ponder the thought of it and can never quite put my finger on it... I have the basic principles of it, but wanted to see if anyone had a real "grip" on it.

Sorry if it rekindles bad emotions between ppl, it always does...It's just i have all these feelings, and im 17 so i know i dont know what it is. But i have all these friends...same age...and they are all like i love you, and all that...and when i ask "what is love to you" they say they're not sure. So how do they know if they are in love, or do love? This is something it just keeps me up at night. I dont know if ive loved before...I "THINK" I might have been in love this last time, but i do not know, like every adult tells me, your 17 you dont know what it is...I believe it is very strong, and should not be taken lightly...

lahat naman tayo naiinlab...
pero marami sa atin ang INFATUATED lang...
both LOVE and INFATUATION are sure to live as up to cloud 9...
pero MAG-KA-I-BA sila...suriin mo ang nararamdaman mo...
ang INFATUATION ay matinding paghanga...
it is an instant desire...

LOVE, on the other hand, understands...

you even feel his/her presence kahit na malayo siya...
distance is not a hindrance for your love not to grow...
you're sure he/she is with you in spirit...
of course, you want him/her near...
but near or far,

you know he/she loves you as much as you love him/her...
you can wait for him/her...no matter what...
when you're INFATUATED,
you tend to say that you want to get married as soon as time
possible...
masasabi mo na," I can't afford to lose you!"....
samantala, when you're IN LOVE,
you don't rush into anything...

you're patient...
you don't panic...
you plan your future carefully...

INFATUATION is smart with sexual excitement...
you want constant intimacy with him/her...

samantala, LOVE is a maturation of friendship...
it is always best to be friends first before becoming lovers...
pag INFATUATED ka,
iniisip mo na baka nagiging unfaithful na siya sa'yo...
LOVE is trusting the other person...
you know you can trust him/her...
and by feeling this way,
he/she even becomes more trustworthy...
dahil INFATUATED ka,

but with LOVE, you are sure of your every move...

LOVE and INFATUATION...
you know, GOD is NOT a killjoy in love affairs...

but......you have to be WISE!
or else, you might MISS it out...

after all, you're not settling for second best, right?

I always thought the best word to describe love with was love?

Just like religion/beliefs or whatever, it brings inner peace with ourselves if we can just accept (or love) what others beliefs are. If ya don't believe me, try it. What do ya have to lose?!?

I believe love is a choice you make, just like hate. We control our life, so it's up to us to love our life. In this case our family, friends, possesions, everything that surrounds us is our life.

I don't think love is that urge you get to want someone (infatuation, lust, greed, temptation....etc) If we relied on that to distinguish wether we love someone or not, that would be mostly on a "Oh lucky me" basis. You can depend on luck/fate whatever, just don't point the finger at anyone else when it stears you wrong, because in the beginning it was your choice to rely on it anyway.

Hey guys... my first post. I think imma like this forum, because I classify myself as a "hopless romantic" and it seems i'm in good company.

I'm not sure exactly what love is, It's proberly different to different people. Dated a girl once who didn't believe in it. But what i'm sure love is, is that Love is forever. If you love someone, you love them forever, if you don't love them forever, you didn't really love them in the first place. It is forever, because that person, held you for that period of time in your life. You can change, but you can't change the past. If you been in love with someone for that period of them, they had you. They proberly changed you. Hopefully you came out better, and hopefully you are thankful. But you can't take any of it back.

What I think love is, is... moments. That moment, her scent, the connection, chemistry, and the longing for it. The feeling that god put an angel on earth just for you. That if she looses a leg, or gain 100 pounds, you can look into her, and see the same woman you feel in love with. You are not particularly sure what about her that you love, but that she's perfect. Or at least perfect for you. And her flaws are all forgiven. Her happiness matters more than yours. After years without talking, you can continue a conversation as if nothing has changed, and it'll be the best conversation you ever had.

With Love comes great Pain... but that is only natural. The only thing that can stop Love is Death. And only that is temporary. Love is forever.
