I don't. There are much better people that die everyday and no one cares or hears about them...why the hell should I care about some TV fat bimbo that chose to do drugs?

I'm with OV on this one. Hell, Mother Teresa's death didn't get half the coverage. It's shameful.

I'm not losing any sleep, but you can't help but feel a little sorry for her. If my son died, I'd probably be planning a way to follow....

I disagree about the amount of media coverage though. Mother Teresa had WAY more, and rightly so. Also, hers was international news.

Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Maybe Gribble used a bad example to compare to but he still has a valid point. Here is one for example, this happened near me...how many of you know about this? ....I thought so...http://www.myfoxchicago.com/myfox/pages/Home/Detail?contentId=2201513&version=2&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=VSTY&pageId=1.1.1

That is a local news item, OV. Celebrities are famous nationally, hence national coverage. I don't genuinely care any more or less about any of them, though.

So if George Cloney died you would not care? Sweet. I think I will kill him for the hell of it right now.

As far as Anna goes, I rather read/listen/see more real news. I don't give a crap about famous people.

It's a problem with American society in general. The majority of Americans raise these people to the status of gods. It's sickening.

It is absolutely sickening how some people go gaga over another person cause their a "star". Its just so sad..
There are moments when one feels free from one's own identification with human limitations and inadequacies. At such moments one imagines that one stands on some spot of a small planet, gazing in amazement at the cold yet profoundly moving beauty of the eternal, the unfathomable; life and death flow into one, and there is neither evolution nor destiny; only Being. - Albert Einstein

I think god is a good way of describing celebrities. Look at the Greek gods. They were childish, selfish to the extreme, broke into feuds with each other, and generally made asses of themselves. And people prattled on about every little thing they did.

"Did you hear about Zeus!? Word is he's buggering his cup-bearer, Catamite!!"

Tell me you can't envision a similar story popping up in the tabloids.
