    I can't tell how I feel

I feel kind of odd posting this..
This is my first post on this forum. In fact, I know almost nothing about this forum.
However, I need to ask for a bit of help...

I suppose I should start from the beginning.

A little while ago I met a girl. Let's just call her "K" So uh.. I met "K" at a friend's birthday party, and we started talking to each other online. Somehow we ended up talking to each on the phone. I always had an idea that she liked me, and I thought I did as well... First we talked for maybe 30 minutes.. then an hour.. eventually we were talking throughout the night, up to 3 hours a day, and we started hanging out..

4 days, 22 hours, and 25 minutes ago, I told her I thought I liked her.
Her response was that she really really really really really liked me. Those exact words. And everything should've went well except I'm a fool and I can't figure out how I feel.

It's different from the other girls I've liked in the past.. I don't get the anxious feeling. I don't feel my heart pounding against my chest. I can be calm and collected.

..uhm and so I decided that I didn't want to do anything hasty because I can't figure out if I like her or if it's just.. a friend to friend kind of relationship..

So uh.. this.. calming, soothing feeling I get from her..
Can this be called "love" as well?

    Maybe.

If you're like many guys, you're used to a chase. Pining over a person that is hard to get, or completely unattainable.

I had the same feelings initially when I started going out with this one girl. There's initial rush, fear and anxiety of rejection, but the thrill of getting what I want. Once she succumbed to my awesomeness, I lost a lot of that initial thrill. But there's been plenty of others as I've gotten to know her.

How any of this relates to your situation? Don't know, maybe you really don't like her as you think you did.

Thank you for that. I was thinking about that as well. I guess all I can do is spend some more time with her to find out.

Well, don't write her off yet. You don't want to blow it and regret it later. Just take it slow.

...she can't tell you how many days, hours and minutes it has been since she told you that she "really really really really really" liked you?

I think Fras has it right. If you already know she likes you, there's not a lot of tension which is usually involved in "the chase."

It's the chase thing, definitely. In fact, I think you have my problem which goes as follows:

    Me: "I like you!"
Person: "Well, I like you, too!"
Me: ".....Uhh, really? Well....hmm...uh...yeeeeah...that's totally not gonna work."

    and vice versa...

    Me: "I like you!"
Person: "I don't see you that way. Let's be best friends!"
Me: "...Okay." (and then the rest in my head) "What? Why? Can I fix whatever's wrong with me? TELL ME WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME. Yeah, sure, we can still be friends but not really because now I like you AND I hate you. Please watch while I waste 2 years of my life simultaneously trying to be your best friend AND break your ego into a thousand tiny pieces."

People are boring when they like you back, aren't they?

I'll know I've found my soulmate when I find someone I'm still attracted to AFTER they've started liking me and we've started dating.

Dude, if you think you like her, GO FOR IT. Don't listen to us. We aren't you. We can't know what you're really feeling.

It's a teeny bopper, he don't have a clue as to what he's really feeling.
