dropping out of uni

im in a dilema.

im 1st year at uni on a course that's ok.

in england to get into uni you need a levels. in my a levels i got grades ACC.

My 1st year finishes in 2 months. but i don't really like the course im on.

im thinking of ressiting my a levels so that i can improve my chances of getting on another course.

but should i drop out end of 1st year and resit or stay on 2nd year and resit? any ideas? thanks

Can you not resit first and make your decision after? Is there any chance you could completely blow it by changing now?

no i can resit while applying or resit and then wait another year before applying.

But will applying necessarily knock you out of your current program?

I advise you to do whatever you can to stay there, even if you're not currently pursuing your chosen course because I can't imagine you're learning something you couldn't apply elsewhere this early in the game (unless your schools are vastly different from ours, you start general and specialize later).

Just try not to spend any long amounts of time out of school (like a year). It's really hard to go back once you leave.

if i apply to the new uni whilst at staying at the uni i am at i can loose my place at both.

Why don't you talk to your Uni and ask to switch course? A lot of people do it. As for re-sitting A-levels... what is the point? Talk to your careers adviser.

try to avoid dropping out at all costs. college is a wonderful experience.
