Why would someone hope for there NOT to be an after life? The reason why we have so many idiots(theists) running around is because of the natural fear of death.

People would hope that there is not an afterlife because they thing they have done something that would cause them to end up in Hell, or some similar state.

....Doug Adams rules!! That’s a genius argument for being a atheist though, if you actually don't want to get into Heaven!
I think the South Park version of Heaven was the best! All those people ended up in Hell because they chose the wrong answer and Heaven was full of Mormons so people who didn't get into Heaven probably wouldn't want to anyway because it would be like their version of Hell!
So even if Christians are right about Heaven… Would you really want to go there if it ended up being like at church with everyone singing hymns and praying all the time??

Also, what's the point in an afterlife or reincarnation if you can't carry your consciousness with you? If your soul is not synonymous with your consciousness then what's the point?

If there were an afterlife for humans then it only seems logical that there'd be an afterlife for every other species. And a spider heaven sounds ridiculous to me.
