To flirt or to be friendly?

Hey guys. I need help on a simple question.
I've always read that long lasting relationships always come from a good friendship but girls my age (15) always say they wouldn't date me because they see me as a friend...
So I wonder, how is the best way to aproach a girl? To flirt with her or to become a friend of hers?

If you want to eventually ask out some girl, and you already know this, do not first appear like you want to just become "friends". This is being deceitful and dishonest.

You should probably make your intentions known earlier rather than later so you don't end up as just a friend.

Yeah, that's what I think, but when I talk to them (which happens pretty often) they always tell me that all theirs relationships started as best friends or something like that.

Well, I don't really have that problem because I don't look at girls I like/love/have a crunch on as friends... now that I look at it, it does seem dishonest...
