That is SOOOO not true! My husband is a chemist, and he hires LOTS of chemistry and biology majors with Bachelors degrees...
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

No, not where he works. Interns work as volunteers to gain work experience.

I've been told by everyone that I would not find a job with just a bachelors if I were to be a chemist. Maybe it's the Rochester economy.

What type of chemistry is your husband into Vashti?

it's not the degree that gets you the job. it's what you know.

I'm stuck with biochemistry at the moment, want to change it to organic chemistry and get into neurochemistry. All my first year courses are so ****ing generic. I could have taken credit for 2 of them but will not so that the classes are more of a review than learning new material to help assure a better GPA

I have never heard of a science major not being able to find work. You should be employable with any of those degrees...

Not so in professional fields. You can't even get your foot in the door without a degree.

You think senior year is a big deal up until after you graduate.

Then you realize how silly it was to have made a big deal out of any of it.

Just goes to show how naive teenagers really are.

LOL! Really? Try applying for a job in any scientific lab, law office, medical practice, teaching institution, CPA firm, etc.

Oh, wait. You *could* get a job... as a janitor.

Honey, no offense, but you are a kid living at home with your mom. You aren't making a professional salary, else you'd have moved out already, and you wouldn't always be complaining about how broke you are. Sure, every now and then, an under-educated person pulls in a good salary, but they are exceptions. Most people are not exceptional.
