where can i find authentic military field jackets?

some of you know i have an interest in military clothing because of it's durability.

i've been considering purchasing an m65 field jacket for quite some time now. the thing is, i am worried that it won't be authentic, that it will be some stupid designer-fashioned thing, or some government surplus designed for civilian use. i don't want that garbage. i want the standard issue m-65 field jacket. i believe they use the same model in the military today, but instead of olive drab, it is camo.

i want to purchase it off of the internet because there aren't any surplus stores within a stone's throw.

i am also concerned about size, can someone help me find a size chart for military jackets, and what i could use to compare it to, i.e. cotton tshirt.

    thanks!

as for size, from your pictures i'd guess you'd fit a small or medium. probably a medium would be good so you can wear other things under your jacket.

I thought this thread was going to be about German military uniforms from WWII. I knew a Polish kid in high school who collected that

    That's kind of creepy.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Aww, I am sorry. I know you are really proud of him. Has he been sick for long?

    sorry about your grandpa, misombra.

i'd assume that i am a small/medium, however, i really don't want to order it and discover that i am bigger than i thought. how can i find out the exact size of jacket i wear?

he's been in a nursing home for a few years just becoming more and more weak. but this man is a survivor. death does want him.

his health has been on the decline since my grandmother died 3 or 4 years ago.

nah, the sizes will be about the same. i know you wouldn't fit into a large. just try a medium, then if it doesn't work you can exchange it. i don't know the policy on that website but i'm sure you could.

also you could try thrift stores. i always find cammies there. i don't know about a nice field jacket though, you might have to get that new.

Go to a classy clothing store and feign interest in a sports jacket. Ask a salesman for your measurements. Take note of what he tells you.
