I make my daughter clean just one thing in her room at a time and set an alarm for 10 minutes. It helps her to know it won't last long.

giga... that type of behavior will only lead to procrastination because she knows that she doesn't have to finish everything all at once.

But it also might teach her that you'll eventually get things done if you break em' down into smaller tasks. The reason why people procrastinate is because they can't manage shit and by the time a deadline is due they feel overwhelmed by the amount of work that needs to be done and half the time, do a shitass job and then continue to kicks themselves for not doing the work earlier. And repeat.

Usually it's just getting started that's difficult for people. I know it's like that for me. I know I spend lots of time doing ****-all at work and posting on LF because I can't motivate to start my workday.
