I Want My Woman to Cook

I can see why the gender roles existed before.

The idea of coming home and dinner either being ready, or being cooked sounds wonderful right now.

I'm so frikkin' beat at the end of the day I hardly find the energy to invest making anything more than macaroni and cheese.

If you have a traditional family arrangement, your woman will be at home making you dinner instead of out making money. Otherwise, she will probably tell you to make your own dinner.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Cook on the weekends. Better yet, how about having a cooking weekend w/Amy (each of you make a big, yummy dish).

Do you have a freezer, Fras? If yes, why not make a whole bunch of food & freeze it in portions. Half for you, half for Amy?

Yeah, dunno what's gonna happen in New Orleans.

I might end up eating alot of the same things I'm eating here.

Man, I wish I had a job lined up.

That's not a bad idea though Indi, she's makes good chili and it keeps well for several days.

    So does my ziti.

Whenever I freeze food it tastes funky to me.

why can't you cook for yourself you lazy bastard?? shiet, honestly i think that people in general are spoiled... if i can work 40 hours a week and cook dinner for me and my pops on a nightly basis.. get my drinking in, and my lifting too so i don't get fat... i think anyone can do it.

That'll depend on my next job.

I've been working 50-60 hours here and I'm deadbeat by the time I get back.

Anyway, this is my last day working for that balding prick fat bastard! (He doesn't know it yet)

Baaaahahahaaa! I hope you enjoy your liberation!

I know what you mean about the cooking. I get a lot of meals cooked for me and it makes me feel wonderful. So nurturing.

I'm sorry, but what do you do when you get back home?

I find cooking fun & relaxing; and if you see it that way, the first thing you want to do when you come back home is change your clothes into something comfortable and just start cooking.. Growing up, that's what my father did.. (My mother couldn't even make ice-cubes.. "she could, but then she lost the recipe").. and there's nothing feminine about cooking.. most of the world famous chefs are male.. it's nothing to be ashamed about..

It's more enjoyable, engaging, and productive than watching TV or lying down waiting for your wife/gf to come back home and complain about food.. (not to imply that this is what you do).. if she can cook, that's great, you can take turns (just for fun) or cook together on the weekends.. but cooking isn't a chore! you shouldn't look at it that way.. it's like gardening (for people who like gardening).. but it serves some more direct purpose..

i don't know how to feel about this one.

a large part of me wants to really take care of my s.o. cook, clean etc. but if i was to work and come home and cook i don't think i could handle it.

like now, i've come home from uni i'm friggin tired i'm gona lounge about for half an hour then my mum will have finished cooking.

i doon't think i could have a fulltime job and be a really professional housewife. god bless mums who can.

i also need to learn how to cook about 10 asian curries

Mmmmmm. Asian curries. Yummy, but so labor-intensive. Talk about cooking all day...

My bf feels the same way about cooking that GrkScorp does. It's how he unwinds after a day at work, and because he doesn't cook professionally any more, he's quite enthusiastic about it.

I think the answer is Fras and Ames need to move in next door (and annoying old Mr & Mrs Gonzales can just move right out). They can help me fix up my beater house and Cali Boy will cook for all of us.

    That sounds awesome.

We're big fans of semi-communal living.

Anyway, no I don't find cooking a soothing way to end the day. In fact, I rarely get out of my dirty clothes until right before bed. Anytime I have taken a shower and gotten into comfortable clothes...no matter the hour...I'm pretty much ready to hit the sack.
