It's sweet but I'm not going to fall for a girl for it.

The question is, what do girls think of guys who write them poetry?

I say it really depends on how you know them...

If you're a complete stranger, that might be a little creepy or aggressive. If it's your boyfriend, well I'd personally love poetry from a girl I liked...it's cute.

I would be flattered as long as I know the person if a stranger did it...i'd be creeped out.

It wouldn't creep me out more than girls trying to kiss guys at bars without knowing us...

It would be cute but maybe not so atractive, I don't know, it depends on the case.

I look at a girl who would write me a poem very kindly for her effort, time and sentimental value on offer. The more depth and creativity present, the better my perception. This communicates to me that a girl sees a lot of value in me and that I'm a valuable asset in the relationship.

There's a danger though of things like that going over a guy's head. Danger of a guy thinking too much of himself. Perhaps best done further into the relationship?

It all depends on how much effort was made or how deep the poety is..

But, if it's some random girl I don't really know that well.. it's a little too much, and I would have to cut off all contact now, before I have to get a restraining order and have a stalker on my hands..

If it's from your girlfriend though, it would be really really sweet, and very thoughtful, I would absolutely melt on the inside.. it would really go a long way.. and I think i'd feel much more connected and more deeply in love..., but it can only be once.. it's like a one time thing.. I think if it's more than once or one time.. it would not only have no effect, but it would take away from the effect of the first one..

So, if you have to do it.. make sure it's to the guy you're in a relationship with.. and only once.. so make sure it counts!

It depends on how hot the author is. Everyone is saying that it would be creepy if it was a complete stranger but... not if the complete stranger looked like Jessica Alba

that's a whole different type of situation, and we don't need another thread demanding a member to post a picture of themselves. lol

but GrkScorp hit it right on the nail, one poem can really be moving and touching to a guy, but it's got to be the right situation and not overdone.

This thread reminds me of when I went spelunking with a friend of mine and a group of strangers. The guide was some hippy-dippy guy who took us down to the bottom of the cave, shut out all the lights, and recited some of his own poetry. He got really mad when one of the teenagers started laughing. It was really creepy.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
