Scam?

Here's the message, I received from my E-mail yesterday.

" Hi!

I want to apologize for my immodesty at first. Just I have found your
profile at dating site www.megafriends.com. My name is Rimma.
I at all do not know why I have chosen you.
Probably it was any internal voice. Probably it is destiny.
In any case, I do not search for man according just to external
qualities. I search my real soulmate and I would like to speak
with you more to know more about you. Of course if you are
interested too. I am 27 years old and you can see my photo. I can send
you more photos if you want. Of course I shall tell more about
myself if you will answer. My e-mail is .....
I shall look forward to hearing from you.

With hope, Rimma. "

P.S. Attached Photo too, I'm thinking it's kinda fishy, so I'd like some opinions on this.

Are you registered to that dating site?
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

I'll see what this is about.

You posted her email address here? Don't you know what the crowd here is like?

She looks cute
Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame
Weak find the whip, willing find freedom
Towards the sun, carry your name
In warm hands you are given
Ask the wind for the way
Uncertainty's gone, your path will unravel
Accept all as it is and do not blame
God or the Devil

O.K. fine.., looks very fake and not the least bit legitimate.., but where is the "scam" exactly? I don't see it.., what are you losing or what information are you giving?

Well as someone who got suckered on this very forum a couple years ago, it could be something as innocuous as someone doing research on how people attempt online relationships. That's what it was in my case.

LF Search: "Lacey" and you might still pull up an incredibly hilarious compilation of just how bad I fell for it. Goddamn I wish I had actually been talking to the girl in that picture.

I'm not going to take it seriously, just trying to tell you people of what I received and If others received something like that.
Seems strange to me, since this is the first time, I've got something like this.

P.S. Oh well, guess some people will send you anything to promote themselves.

Of course, couldn't hurt to at least respond to the email and post what else you get back from her.

If you have registered on the dating site then its perfectly normal. I get romantic emails from strangers in a non-dating site (wait, friendster is not a dating site right?) and then later realizing its some old perve. Just becareful of giving too much information too soon. If you're interested why not check it out?

Don't give out your full name, credit card numbers, social security number, etc.

Credit #, SIN # I would never give out.
My address, only to people that I have met in person and have seen them a few times and can trust them.
P.S. I'll be better off focusing on my career atm, it's a nice gesture, but not ready to be serious. Might just date for now.
