Why is Father’s Day (on June 15th) mostly ignored?

I don’t know anybody that takes this special occasion seriously. Most years i don’t even think to call my Dad on June 15th ...

A good father and son combo shouldn't need a ceremony to acknowledge their bond - there's no cake or ice cream required and no gift cards are ever exchanged. Maybe some power tools are returned, but that's about it...

What are you going to do on Father’s Day?

for most people, it's a bar b q day.. however, i think that our family will go out to dinner.

when you really think about it, most guys in general don't care to celebrate as much as the females do. guys don't need a special day to remember themselves, they would rather just watch sports and have a nice cold beer....

that's it. i'm going drinking again tonight.

Some fathers want to be recognized.

My dad says he just wants something small and simple so I'll get him a card and maybe a t-shirt.

My dad's always been crazy about it. If you don't do something that he deems suitable he'll try to make you feel like crap for months to come. So I usually just ignore the day altogether.

I'll call my Dad, but that's about it. That's all I did for my mom on mother's day. They both live really far from me, so it's not like I can take them out. They appreciate just hearing my voice.

As for father's day not being as big a deal....I think it's just the nature of men. They don't need to be all fluffed up to feel good. Plus, all he really did was hop on mom for thirty minutes.....she took care of the rest

WTF?? Don't be such a cheap bastard and treat your dad to something... a beer, dinner, something. Unless you think your dad is the devil incarnate, I can't imagine why it is such a big deal to be nice.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Where would mommy be if daddy decided not to stick around?

Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I suspect MY mom would have been a lot better off. My father was psychotic.

Are you sure she didn't drive him there during those 9 months?
